Hi beauties! Ok, so everyone in the beauty community has been talking about this new L’Oréal Lumi Cushion Foundation. If you follow your favorite beauty guru or youtuber on Snapchat, chances are you have seen them snap about this new foundation. The first person I saw show it was Jaclyn Hill (of course, who else right)
I wasn’t planning on making myself crazy trying to find it, but luck was on my side when I walked into my neighborhood CVS! They had just finished setting up the display and every color was in stock, the makeup gods favored me that day.
This foundation is sold at all “Drug Store” retailers, some don’t have it in stock yet but will eventually. It is priced any where from $13.99-$16.99 depending on where you purchase from. I paid $14.99 at CVS. Now you might be asking yourself, what the heck $14.99..? That’s not a drug store price!!! I don’t blame you, I was right there with you in that thought! Many people have voiced there opinions and concerns about the pricing of this new product. Drug store brands have always been thought of as “affordable” and with this price tag, I’d say its pushing past the affordable mark.
Getting past the price tag, this foundation is described as “Buildable Luminous Foundation” and that it is!! The packaging itself is just eye candy if you ask me. The shiny rose gold color of the compact draws you in. Included with the foundation is an applicator which I opted not to use.
I have played with different application tools, and found that I like my result best when applied with a damp sponge (beauty blender, real techniques sponge) The application looks more flawless and natural in m opinion. I also played with different primers and found that primer didn’t affect the results or wear of the foundation. As the foundation states, it is buildable coverage. The cushion allows you to take minimal product for a light coverage look, or as it says add more product to build your coverage. I wore this foundation for 8-12 hours each time I applied, and loved the staying power. I did get oily on my chin and have to blot, but I have no complaints other wise. It didn’t crease on me, or fade.
If you can get past the price tag, I would recommend that you give this foundation a try! I’ve included links below for you to purchase or do your own research, happy shopping loves!
